Nigeria – The outgone Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) Mr Chiedu Ebie has commended the Management and Staff of the office of the SSG for their support during his tenure as the Secretary to the State Government.
He made this known today during the official hand over to the State Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayoko (mni) following the dissolution of the State Executive Council by Governor Okowa in the Conference Hall of the SSG’S office.
Mr Ebie noted that he had the privilege to work with three Permanent Secretaries who made his job easy when he served as SSG.
“I have enjoyed my time here as SSG. I have worked very closely with the best and brightest in the Delta Civil Service, I have had the opportunity of working with three Permanent Secretaries and I will like to thank each and everyone of them starting with Mr Jerome Morka who retired and was retained by His Excellency the Governor and appointed as Senior Special Assistant in the office of the SSG, followed by Mr Austin Oghoro and then Comrade Dietake who I had the opportunity, privilege and good fortune of working with as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education” he said.
He equally thanked Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for giving him the opportunity to serve, first as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education and as Secretary to the State Government.
“Lastly, from the depth of my heart, I will like to thank His Excellency, the Governor who six years ago found me worthy of appointment as a Commissioner and member of the State Executive Council and then two years ago as Secretary to the State Government”.
Like I did say last week Tuesday when I gave the vote of thanks, He is someone that has great intellect and a deep thinker and he is someone that prepared himself for governance. For those of us that had the privilege of working with him closely, we have learnt a lot from him,he helped in mentoring us, providing us with direction and ensuring that we were able to discharge our duties to the best of our abilities” he added.
The functioning SSG, Mr Reginald Bayoko who noted that his appointment as functioning SSG was divine, assured that he would continue to do the needful to ensure that Governor Okowa delivers on his election promises and finishes stronger.
Mr Bayoko described Mr Ebie as a quintessential gentleman who has a depth of concern for humanity.
