Financial Consulting / ServicesA reputable oil and gas firm is looking for Head of Operations logistic with experience in the operations of downstream oil and gas products – GAS, AGO, PMS, LUBOIL, CRUDEOIL, etc. and sound knowledge of the Oil and Gas downstream operational procedures is a major requirement.
Job description
Engages with Executive Management to develop the logistics strategic objectives, goals, and targets in line with the Group strategy and communicates the strategy within the logistics business and leads its execution.
Engages with relevant internal colleagues and establishes and implements documentation standards, procedures and tools for shipments and transportation.
Day to day handling of Operations Logistics covering vessels and cargo loading and discharge. This includes liaison with PPMC / NNPC and ensuring that programs from PPMC Abuja Office is followed up till naval clearance is obtained.
Soliciting for clearing and Agency services from marketing companies and efficient handling of clearing of cargoes. Effective Liaison and managing NPA team including Harbor master, pilots, and other stakeholders are critical.
Facilitating and clearing of imported cargoes, vessels discharge, efficient handling of operational activities and with zero tolerance for demurrage and making appropriate payment to NPA/ NIMASA/ Customs etc.
Participates in the recruitment of Logistics employees e.g., Truck Drivers and oversees and directs the consistent enforcement of applicable environmental, health, safety, and other regulatory rules and regulations in the logistics business.
Working closely with the terminal and depot Manager for efficient hand ling of cargo loading and discharge and managing all relevant stakeholders such as DPR. PPPRA PEF etc.
Establishes procedures and practice standards for the dispatching, routing, and tracking of petroleum products transportation in line with relevant Group standards and local, government and international regulations.
Prepares the annual budgets and monitors performance to ensure that variances are avoided or minimized. Allocates required resources and approves requisitions in line with the budgets and laid down controls.
Drives the development and cultivation of positive business relationships with the organization’s customers and vendors; directs pricing and performance reviews to identify service and revenue improvement opportunities and to manage costs.
Qualifications: Required:
Minimum of 10 years working experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in logistics, supply chain management and transportation of petroleum products.
Minimum of bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./HND) in Engineering, Sciences, Social Sciences, Administration or Humanities
Desirable:
MBA or master’s degree in a related discipline is an advantage.
Professional certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
