Sports Minister Dare Calls For National Integration, Urges Nigerians To Shun Violence, Vices

Care With Passion

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, has called for national integration and cohesion.

Ekwi Ajide of our Abuja bureau reports that the Minister made the call while congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the end of Ramadan fast.

The Minister, who urged Muslims to sustain the exemplary qualities of Prophet Muhammad, in their daily pursuits, called on the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of Eid-el Fitr to offer prayers for leaders, adding that Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable.

He stressed that the federal government will sustain its youth friendly initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities and wealth for the youth.

While admonishing the younger generation to tap into social investment programmes of the federal government, the Minister acknowledged the leading roles played by youths in nation building adding that the country is better off as a united entity.

The Minister stressed that as the Muslims mark the 2021 Eid-el Fitr, the season should be re-dedicated to the service of God and mankind.

According to him, Nigerians must shun violence and social vices as development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility and the teachings of the holy Qur’an must be exhibited and upheld especially by the Muslim community.
